Paper Dollz showcases the best in independent literature in order to foster success for all writers, irregardless of their genre, style or career level. The site, originally created by a published author as a community space for literary friends in California, has already garnered the attention of editors and writers at Random House, The Adirondack Review (named one of the top online magazines by Esquire), Stay Thirsty Media and Tribes Magazine. Paper Dollz has a solid following of readers in California, New York and Virginia.
Although Paper-dollz does not pay (I'm just 1 editor working alone help people get the word out!), many artists who have published with Paper Dollz, have gained publishing/marketing/sales opportunities or, which is also super nice, a sense they are not alone in their art. The site has also had some famous people (Gary Snyder, Bela Fleck) share their experiences with artists.
Right now Paper Dollz would like to share that prosperity to more talented individuals by accepting submissions of poetry, flash fiction, literary/music criticism, and author profiles for publication.
Authors published on Paper Dollz retain all rights to their work. Simultaneous submissions and previously published work will be accepted. Email all work to paperdollzeditor@gmail.com.
Here's what I'm looking for~
Literary & Music Criticism:
Showcase the artist/group of your choice in a 500 word essay. Articles must be clear while articulating the strengths and weaknesses of each selected piece. Writers may choose who they'd like to showcase. Please note, articles on mainstream publications and music will not be accepted. Send article in the body of an email that includes an image of the book cover, your byline (name, email and website, if you have one) and "Literary Criticism" in the subject line.
Poetry & Fiction
Submit up to 3 poems or 1000 words of fiction, an attached jpeg photo of yourself, and a bio.
Author Profiles & Event Announcements:
This category is limited to authors who have published at least one book and events with confirmed venues and dates. Send in a blurb about the event or the book you're promoting, an attached jpeg photo of yourself/ book cover and a bio.
Thanks for submitting! Keep up the good work!
